Motels

The De Smet Super Deluxe Inn & Suites features a swimming pool and continental breakfast. The Cottage Inn Motel offers clean, comfortable rooms and has been operated by the Myers family for two generations. Whether you are coming to take in Laura Ingalls Wilder sites, get outside for hunting and fishing, or just to visit family and friends, these motels serve as a great home away from home.

Bed & Breakfast

For visitors interested in a historic, charming stay, either of the two Bed & Breakfasts are an excellent option. The Heritage House is a meticulously renovated bank building located on De Smet’s historic main street, Calumet Avenue, across the street from where the Ingalls family lived during the Long Winter. The Prairie House Manor, originally built by Banker Ruth, has been renovated to reflect its Victorian-era style and features a large screened porch perfect for prairie evenings. Both B&Bs make any stay in De Smet more comfortable and memorable.
