Jamie joined the organization in 2022, bringing with him two decades of experience in non-profit organizations. His family originally visited De Smet as tourists, falling in love with the community. He and his wife, along with their four children, are happy to call the community home.

Matt is very involved in the community of De Smet. In addition to his role with the Development Corporation, he is first and foremost a husband and father, a small business owner, a member of the township board, and works for the success of the Kingsbury County Country Club. His leadership is felt through various sectors of our area.
Abi is a dedicated educational leader and active community member in De Smet. In her role in the De Smet School District, she wears many hats, including Superintendent, Elementary Principal, and more. As a wife and mother of three boys, her care for the people of De Smet shows through in all that she does.
Ann is a prominent figure in De Smet, known for her extensive contributions to local tourism and community development. Through her important roles as a business owner of one of the most prominent tourist attractions in Eastern South Dakota, her role as President of the Governor’s tourism advisor board, and many other things, she demonstrates a steadfast commitment to De Smet’s present and future success.
Jim is a prominent leader in De Smet with significant contributions in both the manufacturing sector and local development initiatives. As President of DeSCo Architectural Inc. and an active role in the promotion of the local fishing economy, he exemplifies commitment to fostering economic development and enriching the social fabric of De Smet.
Terry has a long history in De Smet, having worked in the construction industry as an owner of a general contracting company. His current role has him sharing his expertise throughout the region. While not traveling extensively, he is always found supporting local efforts in economic development, education, and sports.
The longest serving member of the Board, Todd is a distinguished attorney, agricultural leader, and servant leader. He currently sits as president or member of at least a half-dozen community organizations while keeping up with his many grandchildren. Through his diverse professional endeavors and community engagements, Todd Wilkinson exemplifies a strong commitment to both his local community in De Smet and the broader agricultural industry.
The newest member of the Board, Adam brings an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to serve his community. As the founder and owner of a high school sport application with a growing presence in multiple states, he contributes to the social and economic ecosystems, not just of De Smet, but of many communities, both small and large.
