The Facility

The De Smet Event & Wellness Center has been open for almost a year and what a year it has been! We started out with an empty building and we now have furnishings in all areas except our locker rooms. We have constant activity in the building and are busier than anyone ever expected. You can stop up and see people walking on our Avera Walkway, working out in our Carmen Wellness Center, playing soccer on our event hall floor, rehearsing for a dance recital or play in our Midstate Theater and Conference Room or attending a meeting or viewing an art exhibit in our Conference Center West or Meyer Meeting Room. The De Smet Event Center can be used and booked for:

• Exhibit Hall

  The Exhibit Hall can be utilized for anything due to:

  • Tables and chairs to seat 550
  • Open space for 750 standing
  • Dual sided stage opening into event hall
  • Glass wall with view of sports complex
  • Equipment for many indoor sporting activities

  
• The Midstate Theater

  The Midstate Theater and Conference Room features:

  • Plush seating for 130 which allows space to add 40 folding chairs
  • Huge drop down projection screen
  • Rounded front, raised stage
  • ADA lift to stage level
  • State of the art lighting and sound system

  
• The Meyer Meeting Room

  The Meyer Meeting Room is a great space for smaller, more intimate groups:

  • Will hold 25 seated
  • Has a drop down projection screen
  • Has entrances to the Exhibit Hall and shares a reception area with the Theater
  • The Avera Walkway has constant traffic including:
    • Regular daily serious walkers
    • Runners preparing for marathons
    • Families walking together
    • Friends walking and visiting

  
• The Conference Center West

  The Conference Center West works for larger meeting group or reunions:

  • Will hold 50 seated
  • Has a drop down projection screen
  • Features a fireplace

  
• The Carmen Wellness Center

  The Carmen Wellness Center houses 19 pieces of equipment including:

  • Ellipticals
  • Treadmills
  • Rowing machine
  • Nu-Step
  • Others to work all major muscle groups
  • Children’s Play Area
• The Reception Area

  The Reception Area boasts of:

  • Pub tables and chairs to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee
  • Seating grouping in front of fireplace
  • Glass roll up door for oversize access

  
• The Kitchen

  The kitchen offers:

  • Space to Cater a meal from
  • Counter space to serve from
  • Fully functioning kitchen amenities
