All artists and spectators are invited to enjoy the spectacular weekend of artistry in De Smet on August 10-13. All activities are free to the artists and the public. This is the longest running Plein Air event in South Dakota and is growing each year. And it is so fun....
Plein Air has become a popular event for the public to attend and to purchase original works of art that are scenes from the local area. It is a tremendous opportunity to watch artists at work and for 'budding' artists to learn techniques and materials used by professionals. Artists of all levels and ages are encouraged to participate and to enjoy fellowship as you paint. Arrangements can be made for tours of the area prior to the event, if desired.
